Activities of hotels and similar establishments in January-March 2022
The number of nights spent in hotels in the country in January-March 2022 increased by 45,3 percent compared with the corresponding period of 2021 and amounted to 435,3 thousand. 48,5% of the nights in hotels were registered in Baku, 10,8% in Gusar, 8,0% in Guba, 7.6% in Gabala, 6,1% in Shabran, 3,4% in Naftalan, 3,1%in Lankaran, 2,3% in Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, 1,2% in Shamakhi, 1,1% in Mingachevir and 7,9% in other districts (cities).
The number of nights spent in hotels by the citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan increased by 6,9% compared with the corresponding period of 2021 and amounted to 263,3 thousand, representing 60,5% of total nights.
The number of nights spent by foreigners and stateless persons increased by 3,2% compared with the corresponding period of 2021 and amounted to 172,0 thousand, representing 39,5% of total nights. 14,2% of the nights were spent by the Russian Federation citizens, 12,8% - the United Arab Amirates, 10,3% - Turkey, 8,7% - Saudi Arabia, 5,4% - Kuwait, 4,0% - Great Britain, 3,1% - USA, 2,6% - Israel, 2,1% - Pakistan, 2,0% - Kazakhstan, 1,7% - Germany, 1,6% - Qatar, 1,5% - Italy, 1,3% - Iran, 1,3% - Georgia, 1,3% - India, 1,2% - Ukraine, 0,8% - the Netherlands, 0,7% - France, 23,4% - citizens of other countries.
70,8% of the nights in hotels spent by foreigners and stateless persons were registered in Baku city, 12,4% in Gusar, 5,8% in Gabala, 3,5% in Naftalan, 2,9% in Guba, 1,5% in Shabran, 1,0% in Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, 2,1% in other districts and cities.
In January-March 2022, hotels' revenues increased by 74,8 percent compared with the corresponding period of 2021 and amounted to 59,7 million manats, 54,4% of which were services for the provision of rooms, 30,8% for catering services, 3,9% for treatment and health services, and 10,9% for other services.
In January-March 2022, one time use of the number of hotels was 10,9% (7,8% in January-March 2022). This indicator was 85,5% in Shabran, 29,6% in Guba, 28,0% in Beylagan, 27,2% in Gusar, 26,4% in Naftalan, 20,5% in Aghjabadi, 17,7% in Goychay, 17,7% in Sabirabad, 15,3% in Gabala, 14,0% in Baku, 13,9% in Lankaran, 11,9% in Barda, while in other cities and regions it was below average.
