Activities of hotels and similar establishments in January-June 2022

The number of nights spent in hotels in the country in January-June 2022 increased by 47,8 percent compared with the corresponding period of 2021 and amounted to 1027,0 thousand. 55,1% of the nights in hotels were registered in Baku, 6.8% in Gabala, 6,8% in Guba, 5,5% in Gusar, 5,5% in Shabran, 3,3% in Lankaran, 3,0% in Naftalan, 2,2% in Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, 1,3% in Khachmaz, 1,1% in Shamakhi, 0,9% in Shusha and 8,5% in other districts (cities).

The number of nights spent by foreigners and stateless persons increased by 3,8% compared with the corresponding period of 2021 and amounted to 503,5 thousand, representing 49,0% of total nights. 11,9% of the nights were spent by citizens of Saudi Arabia, 11,5% - the United Arab Amirates, 11,5% - Turkey, 10,7% - the Russian Federation, 4,4% - Great Britain, 3,9% - Kuwait, 3,8% - Israel, 3,5% - India, 3,0% - USA, 1,9% - Pakistan, 1,9% - Kazakhstan, 1,7% - Germany, 1,5% - Italy, 1,4% - Georgia, 1,4% - Qatar, 1,2% - Iran, 0,9% - Uzbekistan, 0,8% - the Netherlands, 0,7% - Ukraine, 0,6% - France, 21,8% - citizens of other countries.

79,9% of the nights in hotels spent by foreigners and stateless persons were registered in Baku city, 6,2% in Gabala, 4,5% in Gusar, 3,1% in Guba, 2,3% in Naftalan, 1,1% in Shabran, 0,7% in Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, 2,2% in other districts and cities.

The number of nights spent in hotels by the citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan was 523,5 thousand, representing 51,0% of total nights.

In January-June 2022, hotels' revenues increased by 63,1 percent compared with the corresponding period of 2021 and amounted to 147,0 million manats, 58,4% of which were services for the provision of rooms, 28,5% for catering services, 3,2% for treatment and health services, and 9,9% for other services.

In January-June 2022, one time use of the number of hotels was 12,4% (9,0% in January-June 2021). This indicator was 90,0% in Shabran, 27,0% in Naftalan, 26,7% in Beylagan, 26,5% in Guba, 19,6% in Aghjabadi, 18,6% in Baku, 17,6% in Lankaran, 17,2% in Sabirabad, 17,1% in Shusha, 16,4% in Gusar, 16,4% in Gabala, 12,8% in Goychay, while in other cities and regions it was below average.
