Sowing of winter crops

Mass sowing of winter grain crops for the product of 2023 is about to be completed in the country and for the state of 24th December of the current year winter crops for grain and green feed were sown in the area of 1054669.3 hectare. 98.7% or 1041147.5 hectare of sowing area was formed winter crops for grain; its 646224.3 hectare was share of wheat, 394763.2 hectare-barley and 160.0 hectare-rye.

Most wheat plants were sown in Jelilabad (57337.0 ha), Fuzuli (34751.0 ha), Sheki (32940.8 ha), Shamakhi (30098.1 ha), Aghjabadi (23518.2 ha), Ismayilli (23076.0 ha) and Hajigabul (20856.6 ha) districts, most barley plants were sown in Kurdamir (32497.9 ha), Sheki (31632.0 ha), Neftchala (27050.0 ha), Bilasuvar (26005.3 ha), Aghsu (18560.2 ha), Goranboy (15027.5 ha) and Fuzuli (14354.0 ha), districts.

Compared to the corresponding period of the previous year sowing area of winter crops for grain increased by 2.5%, as well as sowing of wheat by 7.3%, while sowing area of barley decreased by 4.6%.
