An event dedicated to the 100th anniversary of Great Leader Heydar Aliyev was held at the State Statistical Committee

On May 2, the State Statistical Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan hosted an event dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the National Leader of our people, the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev.

First, the bust of the National Leader of our people, Heydar Aliyev erected in the foyer of the Committee, was visited, the flowers were laid and his dear memory was honored with a minute of silence.

Tahir Budagov, Chairman of the State Statistical Committee made an opening speech at the event and informed about the founder and architect of the independent state of Azerbaijan, the world-famous politician and great statesman, the National Leader Heydar Aliyev, who is always proud of being Azerbaijanian, his unprecedented services for the homeland and people in all periods of his leadership in our republic, his salvation mission, rich statehood heritage. He noted that the National Leader Heydar Aliyev worked tirelessly for the sake of this supreme goal thinking about the well-being of our people not only in this period, but all his life, as he sacrificed his life on this path, he gained constant love in hearts and immortality in memory. The renaissance and awakening of national consciousness began with Heydar Aliyev’s coming to power, and thanks to him the state independence has become eternal and irreversible. Our country was able to rise to the level it deserves in the world thanks to the Great Leader's foresight, wisdom, determination, iron will, and rich experience of statehood. Speaking about the reforms and great achievements carried out in our republic by the leadership of the President Ilham Aliyev, as well as his hard work and tireless activity, who successfully continues the comprehensive development strategy determined by the National Leader Heydar Aliyev, raised his far-sighted and wise policy to a new stage for its quality, Tahir Budagov emphasized the rapid and comprehensive development of our country and strengthening of our state. He noted that under the leadership of the President Ilham Aliyev, our victorious army liberated our lands, which had been under occupation for almost 30 years in the 44-day Patriotic War, and our territorial integrity was restored.  

Then a film dedicated to the life and activity of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev was demonstrated.

Ali Hasanov, member of the Council of Veterans of the New Azerbaijan Party (NAP), Bakhtiyar Nabiyev, Chairman of Yasamal district organization of NAP, and Sevda Suleymanova, Head of the General Department of the State Statistical Committee spoke about the unprecedented services of the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev for the Azerbaijani people and the state, the life and activity of a unique person who forever engraved his name in history, a powerful political figure who became a source of pride for every citizen of Azerbaijan, an example of boundless love for his homeland, great love for the history, culture and spiritual values of the nation. At the event, it was specified that the years of the genius person’s leadership in our country were a period of renaissance, national progress and the independent state building, the unprecedented services of the Great Leader for the development of independent Azerbaijan were mentioned with gratitude. They specifically pointed out that the successes achieved under the leadership of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mr. Ilham Aliyev are the embodiment of the intellect of the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev and the triumph of his ideas entrusted to us.

Then, membership cards were presented to a number of employees of the Administration of the State Statistical Committee who joined the NAP, furthermore, the winners of the chess tournament dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev were awarded.
