The State Statistical Committee was re-awarded an international certificate of compliance on Quality Management System ISO 9001:2015 again
The accuracy, quality and correspondence of statistical data to social and economic events taking place in the society is a great importance. Quality assurance in the official statistical system of Azerbaijan, as in the developed countries of the world, is one of the relevant issues to ensure the quality of administrative and statistical processes organized in state statistical bodies, as well as prepared statistical products. Improvement of statistical processes, improvement of quality in the field of production and dissemination of official statistical data, full achievement of integration into international standards are the priority objectives of the State Statistical Committee.
The State Statistical Committee continued the effective implementation of the quality management system based on the international standard ISO 9001:2015 to organize an effective management system in the statistical system, apply general regulations and standards based on the international experience in order to ensure the quality of information, and all relevant measures were taken for this purpose.
In order to verify the compliance of the activities of the State Statistical Committee in the field of production and dissemination of official statistical data with the requirements of the latest international standard ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System, an agreement for conduction of the new certification audit was signed with “SGS Azerbaijan” LLC, the local representative of the Swiss company “SGS” in the field of testing, inspection and certification. The audit group of “SGS Azerbaijan” LLC conducted a re-certification audit in February 2023 both in the departments of the Administration of the State Statistical Committee and local statistical bodies, where the quality management system is applied. According to the results of the audit, along with the Administration of the Committee, 45 local statistical bodies (Baku, Ganja, Sumgayit, Mingachevir, Lankaran, Shirvan, Shaki, Yevlakh city, Absheron, Aghjabadi, Aghdam, Aghstafa, Aghsu, Balakan, Barda, Dashkasan, Fuzuli, Gadabay, Goranboy, Goychay, Goygol, Hajigabul, Khizi, Imishli, Gakh, Gabala, Gobustan, Guba, Gusar, Lerik, Masalli, Oghuz, Saatli, Sabirabad, Salyan, Samukh, Siyazan, Shabran, Shamakhi, Shamkir, Tartar, Ujar, Yradimli, Zagatala and Zardab regional statistical offices) were awarded international certificate of compliance in the field of “Production and dissemination of official statistical data”.
The State Statistical Committee also carries out work on the implementation and certification of quality management system in other local statistical bodies.
