Mr Tahir Budagov, Chairman of the State Statistical Committee is attending the international event in Riga
The High-Level Seminar for the Heads of National Statistical Institutions of the European, Caucasus and Central Asia Countries on “Modernisation of statistical systems” is being held on 26-28 September in Riga, Latvia. Mr. Tahir Budagov, Chairman of the State Statistical Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan represents our country in this event.
Recent developments in the field of statistics in the Eastern Partnership and Central Asian countries, changing the organization of statistical work, application of information technologies in the data exchange, the role of privately held data in official statistics, administrative data and new data sources, new dissemination and communication strategies, training and developing skills for modern statistical work, organization and promotion of innovations and other topics are being discussed, presentations and reports are being made on the relevant issues.
Mr.Tahir Budagov, Chairman of the State Statistical Committee made speech at the event and gave detailed information on preparation of official statistics by the Committee in accordance with modern requirements, strengthening statistical capacity, improvement and development of the quality assurance system in official statistics, MICS survey, preparation for the agricultural census to be held in our country in 2025, Statistical Olympiad, production of data on Sustainable Development Goals.
During the visit, it is planned as well to expand existing relations and discuss perspectives of mutual cooperation between the State Statistical Committee and the statistical agencies of partner countries.
