A group of employees of the State Statistical Committee participated in the training conducted by Statistics Korea

A group of employees of the State Statistical Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan visited Korea to participate in the training “Strengthening the regional statistical capacity” organized by Statistics Korea (KOSTAT) on August 21-25, 2023 within the framework of the measures carried out in accordance with the “Memorandum of Understanding for cooperation in the field of statistics between the State Statistical Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Statistics Korea”, approved by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated February 11, 2020, No. 930.

The purpose of the training was to increase the knowledge and skills of the employees of the local statistical bodies of the State Statistical Committee, strengthen the statistical capacity, study the application of modern information and communication technologies in the process of statistical production, share the latest innovations and experiences.

During the training, KOSTAT experts made presentations on the role and structure of the national statistical system of Korea, national statistical planning - statistical surveys, data input and processing, provided information on organization and activities of KOSTAT and local statistical bodies, human resources management, concept of official statistics, national experience in the field of statistics, preparation of statistical surveys, press releases, data collection, processing and publication, preparation of official statistical data in accordance with modern requirements, survey methodology for enumerators, their interviewing skills, statistical legislation, etc.

Then, the training participants visited the regional departments of Statistics Korea and got acquainted with their working conditions and activities.

At the end of the training, the Committee employees were awarded certificates.
