Seminar on 4th Steering Committee organized by ENPI-SEIS project held on 17-18 October, 2013 in Copenhagen. The participants of the seminar were the representatives of statistical bodies and ministries of environment of Sothern Caucasus countries, Belarus, Moldova and Ukraine and etc. The Republic of Azerbaijan was represented by the Head of Sector on Ecology, Forestry and Fishing Statistics of the Department of Agricultural and Environment Statistics of the State Statistical Committee – R. Lazimova and Advisor of the Division of Ecology and Nature Protection Policy of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources – A. Yusifova.
The purpose of the seminar was to facilitate dialogue and communication between the project partners in the East and South. The aim of meeting was to take stock of the activities undertaken in 2013 and to contribute to the work plan for the final part of the project in 2014.
Belarus, Moldova, Palestine, Marrakech and Egypt introduced their recent developments in their presentations on environment in the national level.
Representative of the State Statistical Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan was noted that, in 2012 metadata system of indicators and reports on environmental statistics was created by the State Statistical Committee and placed in the webpage of the Committee. The works carried out by the State Statistical Committee was met with great interest by the participants of the seminar.
