Within the framework of the “Human Rights Month”, a series of events on various topics dedicated to human rights were held at the Administration of the State Statistical Committee and regional (city) statistical offices. Legal awareness activities covered the topics “History of human rights development”, “Development of human rights in the Republic of Azerbaijan” and “Statistics on ensuring human rights”.

Within the framework of the events held, materials prepared on various topics related to human rights were presented to the participants and they were informed about the history of the development of human rights, as well as the development of human rights in the Republic of Azerbaijan, the importance of statistics on ensuring human rights. It was emphasized that the great importance is given to respect for human rights and ensuring the supremacy of the law in the Republic of Azerbaijan, and the exceptional importance of the Ombudsman institution as a national preventive (defense) mechanism of human rights and freedoms in the field of human rights was pointed out. The contribution to our state towards transition of the process of ensuring human rights to a qualitatively new level, deepening of universal and regional cooperation, partnership relations between the state and civil society were discussed.
