According to the State Border Service data, in January-March 2023 Azerbaijan received 368,9 thousand or 49,8% more foreigners and stateless persons from 157 countries of the world compared to the corresponding period of the previous year. 32,3% of the arrivals were from the Russian Federation, 21,5%– Turkey, 9,1%– Iran, 5,6%– Georgia, 4,2% – India, 2,6 % – United Arab Emirates, 2,7% –Pakistan, 1,9% - Kazakhstan, per 1,7% – Saudi Arabia and Uzbekistan, 1,6% – Ukraine and Belarus, 1,4% – Kuwait, 1,2% –, Turkmenistan and, 10,8% – were citizens of other countries. 76,9% of the arrivals were men and 23,1% were women.

In comparison with the same period of the previous year, the number of arrivals from India increased by – 5,4 times, Turkmenistan – 4,2 times, Uzbekistan – 4,1 times, China – 3,6 times, Belarus – 3,4 times, Kazakhstan – 2,3 times, Pakistan - 2,0 times, Russian Federation – 1,8 times, Israel – 1,7 times, USA – 1,5 times, Georgia – 45,2 %, Great Britain – 40,6 percent, Oman – 38,5 %, Kuwait – 32,4 %, Turkey – 30,2 %, United Arab Emirates – 28,0 %.

Compared to January-March 2022, the number of arrivals from the CIS countries increased by 1,8 times and amounted to 151,4 thousand persons, from EU member countries increased by 40,1 % and amounted to 15,2 thousand persons, from Gulf countries it increased by 1,5 % and amounted to 59,1 thousand persons.

63.2% of foreigners and stateless persons arriving in our country used air, 35.3% - rail and car, and 1.5% - sea transport.

The number of citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan going abroad increased by 20,2% compared to January-March 2022 and amounted to 358,6 thousand persons. The number of citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan traveling to Russian Federation – 46,6 %, Georgia increased by 44,6 %, Turkey – 6,4 % increased, the number of citizens to Iran decreased by  25,4%. 39,4 % of the country citizens traveled to Turkey, 22,9 % – Russian Federation, 9,6 % – Georgia, 8,0 % - Iran and 20,1% to other countries. 68,9 % of the travelers were men and 31,1 % were women.

In January-March 2023, 67.4 % of the citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan who visited foreign countries used air, 30.0 % rail and car, and 2.6 % sea transport.
