18.08.2023, 17:35

"Fieldwork as part of the Multiple Indicator Cluster Survey (MICS) in Azerbaijan was concluded on August 16, 2023.

The MICS survey was conducted pursuant to the “State Program on Improvement of Official Statistics in the Republic of Azerbaijan in 2018-2025, approved by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan” dated February 14, 2018, No. 3672. The survey aimed to gather internationally comparable statistical data to assess the social welfare of mothers and children, evaluate human development, and measure progress towards the targets set forth as part of the Sustainable Development Goals.

"The MICS survey was launched on May 8, 2023 (and on June 21 in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic), covering the entire territory except for the East Zangazur economic region. It included 12,320 households in 616 clusters. A total of 14 teams, including two in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, were engaged in the fieldwork. Each team consisted of six members: one supervisor, four interviewers, and one measurer. Thus, a total of eighty-four team members were involved in the fieldwork.

"The survey was conducted using four standard questionnaires: “Individual Questionnaire for Women”, “Questionnaire for Children Under Five”, “Questionnaire for Children Age 5-17”, and “Household Questionnaire”. Additionally, the “Water Quality Testing Questionnaire” is administered as a supplement to the “Household Questionnaire”, and the “Questionnaire Form for Vaccination Records at Health Facility” is used alongside the “Questionnaire for Children Under Five”.

"Data collection was executed using tablets, with the collected data entered into the electronic information system through a specialized application (CAPI, Computer-Assisted Personal Interview).

"In accordance with the Action Plan for Conducting the Multiple Indicator Cluster Survey (MICS) in the Republic of Azerbaijan, the verification and processing of the survey data have been launched. The works related to the drafting, approval, publishing, and dissemination of the report on the survey results are planned to be completed by March-May 2024.
