Sowing of winter crops

Mass sowing of winter grain crops for the product of 2024 is about to be completed in the country and for the state of 1st January of the current year winter crops for grain and green feed were sown in the area of 1025,4 thousand hectare. 99,0% or 1015,6 thousand hectare of sowing area was formed winter crops for grain; its 598,3 thousand hectare was share of wheat, 417,1 thousand hectare barley and 161,0 hectare rye.

Most wheat plants were sown in Jelilabad (56,6 thousand ha), Fuzuli (32,0 thousand ha), Shamakhi (29,3 thousand ha), Hajigabul (24,6 thousand ha), Sheki city (24,1 thousand ha), Ismayilli (21,2 thousand ha), Aghjabadi (20,0 thousand ha) and Khojavand (18,9 thousand ha) districts, most barley plants were sown in Kurdamir (34,5 thousand ha), Sheki city (34,2 thousand ha), Neftchala (26,7 thousand ha), Bilasuvar (24,3 thousand ha), Aghsu (19,9 thousand ha), Goranboy (15,7 thousand ha) and Gobustan (14,6 thousand ha) districts.

Compared to the corresponding period of the previous year sowing area of winter crops decreased by 4,6%, as well as sowing area of wheat by 9,9%, while sowing area of barley increased by 4,3%.
