Workshop on Infant and Child Mortality held in Tbilisi, Georgia

Leading advisor of the Department of Population and Gender Statistics of the Republic of Azerbaijan Vugar Shahbazov participated in the workshop on Infant and Child Mortality organized by UNICEF for the countries of the Caucasus and Central Asia on 16-18 October, 2013 in Tbilisi, Georgia. Representatives of statistical services, health authorities of Caucasus (Azerbaijan, Georgia, Armenia) and Central Asia (Kazakhstan, Kirgizstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan) and representatives of UNICEF on countries participated in the workshop.
The followings were discussed during the workshop: Data and trends in the field of child mortality; Data sources for measurement of indicators on child mortality, accounting of population and demography statistics (system, standard and assessment), “Multiple Indicator Cluster Survey in households” and “Demography and Health Survey”; assessment of data on age and gender; quality assessment of data on child mortality and others.
