Training Workshop on the Compilation of Quarterly National Accounts for Economic Cooperation Organization Member Countries held in Tehran

Representative of the State Statistical Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan Sevinj Huseynova – Head Advisor of the Department of National Accounts and Macro-Economic Indicators Statistics participated in the Training Workshop on the Compilation of Quarterly National Accounts for Economic Cooperation Organization Member Countries organized by Economic Cooperation Organization, Statistical Centre of Iran and United Nations Statistical Division on 8-11 March, 2015 in Tehran.
Experts of statistical bodies of Azerbaijan, Pakistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkey and Iran and representatives of United Nations Statistical Division participated in the workshop.
The main purpose of the workshop was quarterly national accounts (QNA) and importance of compilation of them, coverage area, data sources and preparation methods and also discussion of mutual problems and other issues.
During the workshop followings were discussed: scope and role of quarterly national accounts, data sources for compiling quarterly GDP estimates, benchmarking techniques for combining quarterly indicators with annual estimates, seasonal adjustment, price and volume measures, revision policy and dissemination practices and country presentations.
Representative of the State Statistical Committee presented presentation on Quarterly National Accounts in Azerbaijan and also answered all the questions interested participants.
