Regional Workshop on Disseminating Statistical Data for Results held in Tirana, Albania

Leading Adviser of the Department of Population and Gender Statistics of the State Statistical Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan Sitara Babayeva participated in the regional workshop on disseminating Statistical data for results organized by the Partnership in Statistics for Development in -the 21st Century (PARIS21) and National Institute of Statistics of Albania on 17-19 November, of the current year in Tirana, Albania.
Experts of national statistical services of Azerbaijan, Georgia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Montenegro, Moldova, Albania, Armenia, as well as, experts of Paris21, Commercial organization “Positium” of Estonia, and delegations of Eurostat participated in the wokshop.
This three-day technical workshop provided insights into standards and tools used for managing different processes in disseminating data. This was include sessions on: Microdata management and dissemination (Survey Data); Disseminating aggregate data and metadata using SDMX and data portals; Visualizing data using new open source software; Using mobile data to estimate migration and others.
During the workshop different presentations were presented by the participants and then they were discussed. Presentations were about survey data (microdata) dissemination; dissemination of aggregate data; big data or mobile phone data use in official statistics; data visualization and big data.
At the end of the workshop organization and importance of the workshop were discussed and it was decided to organize workshops like this in future and add topics which were not covered in this workshop.
