High-level Conference on “EU Energy Cooperation with Eastern Neighborhood and Central Asia” held in Brussels.
European Commission, with the support of the INOGATE Technical Secretariat, organized a high-level conference “EU Energy Cooperation with Eastern Neighborhood and Central Asia” on 17 March 2016 in Brussels. Participants from Azerbaijan I. Huseynov – Deputy Head of Apparatus of the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Azerbaijan, A.Mursaliyev – Head of the Department of Electricity of the Ministry, A.Karimov – Deputy Head of Department of Energy and Environment Statistics of the State Statistical Committee and experts of INOGATE Program project in Azerbaijan V.Nasibov and J.Afandiyev participated in the high-level conference. Ambassador of Azerbaijan in Belgium F. Isgandarov and Second Secretary of the Embassy A.Shukurov also participated in above mentioned conference.
Representatives of Turkey, Georgia, Ukraine, Moldova, Kazakhstan, Kirgizstan, Tajikistan, Belarus, Armenia, International Energy Agency, DG ENER – Directorate-General for Energy, DG NEAR – Directorate – General for Neighborhood and Enlargement Negotiations, ECS, UNECE, UNIDO as well as international finance agencies, private sector and analytical centers of academic level participated in the conference.
The main purpose of the conference was to exchange views on energy sector developments in the EU, the Eastern Partnership countries and Central Asia. The event also marked 20 fruitful years of cooperation in the framework of the INOGATE Programme (1996-2016).
