A seminar on implementation of model law on official statistics was held in Chisinau

A high-level seminar organized by EUROSTAT for representatives from the statistical agencies of Eastern Europe, the Caucasus and Central Asia was held in 21-22 November in Chisinau, the capital city of Moldova. Seminar is dedicated to the implementation of the model law on Official Statistics, admitted by the Conference of European Statisticians in 2016, according to the experience of the Republic of Moldova. Yusif Yusifov, Deputy Chairman and Vugar Mammadalizade, Head of the Department of Quality Management and Metadata of the Administration of the State Statistical Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan attended the event.

At the seminar the participant countries made presentations and discussed the content and structural elements of the model law on Official Statistics, the functions of the official statistical bodies in the coordination of national statistical systems, and brought into attention the country experiences about the reduction of the burden placed on the respondents to access and use administrative data sources and the quality management in statistics.

During the seminar representatives of the State Statistical Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan made presentations and shared their experiences about the achievements gained in our country in the field of quality management system and the upcoming tasks.
