51st Session of the UN Statistical Commission and High-Level Forum on official statistics are held
51st Session of the UN Statistical Commission and High-Level Forum on official statistics are held on March 2-6 in New York, United States of America. Deputy Chairman of the State Statistical Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mr. Yusif Yusifov participated in the events.
24 documents were submitted for the discussion of the session, 7 information-oriented issues were considered. Decisions were made on reports prepared by relevant experts and working groups on indicators and data on the agenda in the field of sustainable development until 2030, coordination of statistical programs, basic principles of official statistics, management and modernization of statistical system, big and open data, World Statistics Day, perspectives of economic statistics, international comparison program, eco-economic accounts, development of statistics at regional level, national accounts, international trade and entrepreneurship, price, agriculture, demography, health, gender, refugees and IDPs, statistics of information and communication technologies, registration of civil status acts and statistics of natural movement of population, state administration, peace and security statistics and number of other topics during the 4-day session. Along with the above-mentioned, the participants of the event were presented information reports on short-term economic statistics, service, environment, disability, human capacity development statistics, measures taken for the implementation of the decisions of the UN General Assembly and economic and Social Council.
Issues related to the data management in the modern era, the changing role of the national statistical agencies and chief statisticians were considered at the High-Level Forum on official statistics.
