Traffic accidents occurred on the highways in 2022
In 2022, 1668 or 1,2% more traffic accidents occurred compared to 2021, the number of victims of these events increased by 6,1% to 2290 persons. 834 of suffered persons died and 1456 of them were injured. 45,0% of accidents happened in the daytime, 37,9% - at night time, 17,1% - during twilight, 31,2% of accidents occurred on Saturdays and Sundays.
84,6% of traffic accidents happened in settlements; number of persons died as a result of these accidents compared to the previous year increased by 6,3% and made 588 persons, number of injured persons decreased by 2,5% and made 1330 persons.
