Traffic accidents occurred on the highways on January-March 2023
On January-March 2023, 370 or 8,2% less traffic accidents occurred compared to the corresponding period of 2022, the number of victims of these events decreased by 10,3% to 499 persons. 173 of suffered persons died and 326 of them were injured. 46,8% of accidents happened in the daytime, 31,9% - at night time, 21,3% - during twilight, 26,2% of accidents occurred on Saturdays and Sundays.
89,5% of traffic accidents happened in settlements; number of persons died as a result of these accidents compared to the previous year increased by 2,3% and made 132 persons, number of injured persons decreased by 5,7% and made 316 persons.

38,4% of all traffic accidents happened with participation of transport means and pedestrians, 38,4% - several transport means, 23,2% - one mode of transport. 74,0% of persons died and 71,8% of injured as a result of traffic accidents were men.
13 accidents occurred because of drunk driving and caused death or injury, where 3 persons died, 16 persons injured. 11 of such accidents have been committed by drivers of motor-cars.
