Traffic accidents occurred on the highways on January-June 2023
On January-June 2023, 708 or 4,5% less traffic accidents occurred compared to the corresponding period of 2022, the number of victims of these events decreased by 4,8% to 1056 persons. 387 of suffered persons died and 669 of them were injured. 44,3% of accidents happened in the daytime, 39,4% - at night time, 16,3% - during twilight, 29,2% of accidents occurred on Saturdays and Sundays.
88,5% of traffic accidents happened in settlements; number of persons died as a result of these accidents compared to the corresponding period of previous year increased by 24,7% and made 293 persons, number of injured persons decreased by 7,5% and made 644 persons.

39,1% - several transport means, 37,9% of all traffic accidents happened with participation of transport means and pedestrians, 23,0% - one mode of transport. 74,7% of persons died and 73,2% of injured as a result of traffic accidents were men.
16 accidents occurred because of drunk driving and caused death or injury, where 4 persons died, 18 persons injured. 13 of such accidents have been committed by drivers of motor-cars.
