Activities of hotels and similar establishments in January-June 2023
The number of nights spent in hotels and similar establishments in January-June 2023 increased by 32,7% compared to the same period of 2022 and amounted to 1 363,2 thousand. 61,1% of the total nights spent were registered in Baku, 5,0% in Gusar, 4,4% in Gabala, 3,6% in Naftalan, 3,0% in Shabran, 2,8% in Lankaran, 2,2% in Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, 1,5% in Khachmaz, 1,2% in Ismayilli, 1,1% in Ganja, 1,0% in Shamakhi, 0,8% in Shaki, 0,7% in Mingachevir, 0,7% in Shusha, 0,7% and 5,4% in other districts and cities.
The number of nights spent by foreigners and stateless persons increased by 56,5 percent compared to January-June 2022 and reached 788,1 thousand, representing 57,8% of total nights. 17.4% of the total nights were spent by citizens of the Russian Federation, 8,8% - India, 8,6% - Türkiye, 6,7% - the United Arab Emirates, 6,5% - Saudi Arabia, 4,0% - Israel, 4,0% - Great Britain, 3,5% - Kuwait, 2,7% - USA, 2,7% - Kazakhstan, 2,1% - Georgia, 2,1% - Pakistan, 1,9% - Uzbekistan, 1,7% - Germany, 1,6% - China, 1,3% - Italy, 1,0% - Belarus, 0,9% - Qatar, 0,9% - Ukraine, 0,8% - France, 0,7% - Iran, 0,6% - Poland, 0,5% - Netherlands, 0,5% - Oman, 18,5% - citizens of other countries.
84,2% of the nights in hotels spent by foreigners and stateless persons were registered in Baku city, 4,0% in Gusar, 3,6% in Naftalan, 3,4% in Gabala, 2,0% in Guba, 0,4% in Ganja and 2,4%% in other districts and cities.
The number of nights spent in hotels by the citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan compared to corresponding period of 2022 increased by 9,9% and made 575,1 thousand, representing 42,2% of total nights.
In January-June 2023, hotels and similar establishments’ revenues increased by 42,4% compared to the corresponding period of 2022 and amounted to 209,3 million manats, 60,1% of which were from services for the provision of rooms, 27,4% catering services, 4,4% treatment and health services and 8,1% other services.
In January-June 2023, one-time use of rooms in hotels and similar establishments was 16,6% (12,4% in January-June 2022). This indicator was 43,4% in Naftalan, 35,4% in Shabran, 27,1% in Baku, 26,9% in Beylagan, 23,2% in Guba, 22,8% in Barda, 19,5% in Gusar, 18,7% in Sabirabad, 18,6% in Shusha, 17,9% in Lankaran, 17,4% in Aghjabadi, while in other cities and regions, it was below average.
