The meeting on “Labour Statistics Development taking into account the decisions of the 21st International Conference of Labour Statisticians” and the 69th meeting of the Council of Heads of Statistical Services of CIS member states were held in the Republic of Tajikistan

On May 29-31, 2024 in Dushanbe, the Republic of Tajikistan, the Interstate Statistical Committee of the Commonwealth of Independent States held a meeting on “Labour Statistics Development taking into account the decisions of the 21st International Conference of Labour Statisticians” within the framework of the project “Development of CIS statistics“ and the 69th meeting of the Council of Heads of Statistical Services of CIS member states. The meeting was attended by the First Deputy Chairman of the State Statistical Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mr. Vahab Mammadov and Head of the Department of Labour Statistics Mr. Nemat Khuduzade.

During the meeting dedicated to the development of labour statistics, discussions were held on the current state and future prospects of labour statistics in the CIS region, measurement of the labour market in the population census, future development trends taking into account the decisions of the 21st International Conference of Labour Statisticians, collection and dissemination of statistical data through modern technologies.

At the 69th meeting of the Council of Heads of Statistical Services, which was attended by Mr. Vahab Mammadov, the activities of the Council for 2020-2023, the work of the CIS Interstate Statistical Committee in 2023, the progress of work on the implementation of the project "Development of CIS statistics", the measures carried out on the Global International Program of Comparisons, which is based on Purchasing Power Parity, allocation of quotas for staff training on the specialty of statistics in higher educational institutions at the expense of the budget of the Russian Federation, the results of the International Statistical Olympiad and competition, the organization of additional professional education and professional development within the framework of the project “Development of CIS statistics”, etc. issues were discussed and decisions were made.
