On May 29-31, 2024 the 5th International Workshop on “Digital economic statistics” on big data for official statistics was jointly organized by the UN Statistics Division, the UN Trade and Development Conference and the National Bureau of Statistics of China in Xiamen, China. Deputy Chairman of the State Statistical Committee Mr. Yusif Yusifov attended the event.

At the workshop, attended by more than 100 participants, general information was provided on the concept, scope, and importance of the digital economy, as well as the possibilities for its statistical measurement. Discussions were held on international methodologies, classifications, statistical technologies, and the best practices for measuring and analyzing various aspects of the digital economy, including the production and trade of information and communication technology (ICT) goods and services, e-commerce, digital supply-use tables, and the trade.
