According to the State Border Service data, in January-July 2024 the Republic of Azerbaijan received 1502,7 thousand or 31,4 percent more foreigners and stateless persons from 182 countries of the world compared to the corresponding period of the previous year. 29,2% of the arrivals were from the Russian Federation, 16,5% – Türkiye, 9,3% – India, 8,3% – Iran, 4,2% – Saudi Arabia, 4,0% – Georgia, 3,2% – Kazakhstan, 2,7% – Pakistan, per 1,7% - Uzbekistan and United Arab Emirates, 1,5% – China, per 1,3% – Ukraine and Kuwait, 1,2% - Turkmenistan, per 1,1% - Israel and Oman, 1,0% – Belarus, 10,7% – were citizens of other countries. 67,1% of the arrivals were men and 32,9% were women.

In comparison with the same period of the previous year, the number of arrivals from India increased by 2,5-fold, South Korea – 2,3-fold, China – 2,1-fold, Spain – 1,8-fold, Kazakhstan – 1,8-fold, Kyrgyzstan – 1,7-fold, Philippines – 1,6-fold, Pakistan – 1,5-fold, Jordan – 49,7%, Oman – 47,0%, Iran – 46,5%, Saudi Arabia – 42,8%, Italy – 38,7%, Yemen – 35,9%, Turkmenistan – 33,0%, Poland – 31,8%, Kuwait – 29,3%, Egypt – 29,2%, Uzbekistan – 25,6%, USA – 21,9%, Ukraine – 20,5%, Türkiye – 19,6%, Germany – 19,3%, Tajikistan – 17,8%, Russian Federation – 16,9%, Bahrain – 14,3%, France – 13,5%, Georgia – 11,8%, United Arab Emirates – 7,5%.

Compared to January-July 2023, the number of arrivals from Gulf countries increased by 39,6 percent and amounted to 258,8 thousand persons, from EU member countries increased by 28,0 percent and amounted to 57,1 thousand persons, from the CIS countries increased by 20,5% and amounted to 576,1 thousand persons.

75,0% of foreigners and stateless persons arriving in our country used air transport, 23,8% - railway and car, 1,2% - sea transport.

The total number of citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan going abroad increased by 23,1% compared to January-July 2023 and amounted to 1223,0 thousand persons. The number of citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan traveling to Iran increased by 37,8%, Türkiye – 19,3%, Russian Federation - 16,2%, Georgia - 15,9%. 41,2% of citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan traveled to Türkiye, 21,4% – Russian Federation, 8,7% – Georgia, 8,6% - Iran, 20,1% to other countries. 65,0% of the travelers were men and 35,0% were women.

In January-July 2024, 68,9% of the citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan who visited foreign countries used air transport, 28,9% railway and car, 2,2% sea transport.
