Traffic accidents occurred on the highways in January-June 2024
In January-June 2024, 681 or 12,7% less traffic accidents occurred compared to the corresponding period of 2023, the number of victims of these events decreased by 11,8% and made 931 persons. 333 of suffered persons died and 598 of them were injured. 42,4% of accidents happened in the daytime, 39,2% - at night time, 18,4% - during twilight, 27,3% of accidents occurred on Saturdays and Sundays.
86,5% of traffic accidents happened in settlements; number of persons died as a result of these accidents decreased by 17,4% and made 242 persons compared to the corresponding period of previous year, number of injured persons decreased by 13,5% and made 557 persons.

40,1% of all traffic accidents happened with participation of transport means and pedestrians, 38,2% - several transport means, 21,7% - one mode of transport. 74,5% of persons died and 73,2% of injured as a result of traffic accidents were men.
13 accidents occurred because of drunk driving and caused death or injury, where 5 persons died, 9 persons injured. 11 of such accidents have been committed by drivers of motor-cars.
