Cargo transportation by transport corridors in January-September 2024

In January-September 2024, cargo transportation in transport corridors was 24620,1 thousand tons and cargo turnover 9905,5 million ton-km, 0,3 percent and 2,1 percent more compared to the same period of the previous year. The volume of cargo transportation through the East-West transport corridor was 12765,3 thousand tons, including the Europe-Caucasus-Asia transport corridor – 6522,1 thousand tons, the North-South transport corridor – 7022,9 thousand tons, the North-West transport corridor – 4552,6 thousand tons, and the South-West transport corridor – 279,3 thousand tons. 11304,2 thousand ton or 45,9 percent of cargo was transported by railway transport, 7353,6 thousand ton or 29,9 percent by automobile transport, 5962,3 thousand ton or 24,2 percent by sea transport.

57,9 percent or 14247,1 thousand tons of cargo transportation by corridor was transit cargo.
