The State Statistical Committee held an event dedicated to November 8-Victory Day
On November 7, the State Statistical Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan organized an event dedicated to November 8, Victory Day.
The event began with the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan, then the memory of our heroic martyrs who lost their lives in the 44-day Patriotic War was commemorated with a minute of silence.
Then a film dedicated to November 8 - Victory Day was shown.
Speakers at the event emphasized the determination of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mr. Ilham Aliyev, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, and the courage of the honourable Azerbaijani army, which led to restoration of territorial integrity and sovereignty. The patriotic war was described as a shining chapter in Azerbaijan history, a source of pride and honour for the Azerbaijan people, showcasing a unity of the nation around the “Iron Fist”. They noted that our glorious army, heroic soldiers and officers, who made history in the 44-day struggle for justice, demonstrated to the whole world a strong state and strong army strategy, national unity, solidarity and strong will. The participants noted that as a result of the successful continuation of the army building strategy laid by national leader Heydar Aliyev by the Supreme Commander-In-Chief Mr. Ilham Aliyev, Karabakh was liberated and the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Azerbaijan was fully restored, the flag of Azerbaijan is flying in Shusha and other liberated lands today. Speaking about the large-scale construction and restoration work being carried out in Karabakh and the restoration of our national and cultural monuments, they emphasized the importance of the return of our internally displaced compatriots, who left their homes and yearned for their homeland as a result of the Great Return Program, to their ancestral lands in the territories liberated from occupation. At the same time, they expressed deep gratitude for the special work of Mr. President Ilham Aliyev, the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and First Vice-President of Azerbaijan Mehriban Aliyeva for the attention and care shown to the families of martyrs, veterans and war veterans.
Then, gifts were given to participants of the patriotic war working at the State Statistical Committee.
