The State Statistical Committee was represented at the conference organized by the Statistics Korea for partner institutions in the field of statistics

On December 4-5, 2024, Statistics Korea (KOSTAT) hosted a conference for partner institutions in the field of statistics in Seoul, Republic of Korea.

The purpose of the event is to share acquired knowledge and experiences, to discuss directions for the implementation of new projects in the field of statistics, increase the effectiveness of cooperation by identifying joint activities with partner institutions, as well as to organize a platform for mutual communication between the entities involved in the project to strengthen communication and information exchange in the field of statistics including the achievements of KOSTAT in the framework of the project “official development assistance ” (ODA), implemented jointly with national and international organizations in 2012-2024.

Deputy Chairman of the State Statistical Committee Mr. Yusif Yusifov and Head of the International Relations Department Mr. Farhad Aliyev attended the conference. During the event, a presentation was made on the projects and their results implemented in Azerbaijan in 2018-2023 with the support of KOSTAT within the framework of the ODA project, at the same time, the participants were informed about the achievements and the reforms successfully implemented by the State Statistical Committee in recent years. During the panel discussions on the future development directions of the ODA project, questions on the country's experience and key points related to the sustainability of the project were answered.  

Within the framework of the event, a bilateral meeting was held between the State Statistical Committee and KOSTAT, Discussions were held on new directions of cooperation within the framework of the “Memorandum of Understanding for cooperation in the field of statistics between the State Statistical Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Statistics Korea” approved by Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan No. 930, dated 11 February 2020.
