Sowing of winter crops
Mass sowing of winter grain crops for the product of 2025 is about to be completed in the country and for the state of 1st January of the current year winter crops for grain and green feed were sown in the area of 941,7 thousand hectare. 99,0% or 932,2 thousand hectare of sowing area was formed winter crops for grain; its 505,5 thousand hectare was share of wheat, 426,6 thousand hectare barley and 0,1 thousand hectare rye.
Most wheat plants were sown in Jalilabad (47,0 thousand ha), Shamakhi (28,0 thousand ha), Fuzuli (25,2 thousand ha), Hajigabul (23,2 thousand ha), Sheki (21,9 thousand ha), Aghjabadi (21,0 thousand ha), Ismayilli (20,1 thousand ha), and Gobustan (14,3 thousand ha) districts, most barley plants were sown in Sheki (38,1 thousand ha), Kurdamir (33,6 thousand ha), Neftchala (26,6 thousand ha), Bilasuvar (24,1 thousand ha), Aghsu (19,6 thousand ha), Gobustan (14,8 thousand ha) and Jalilabad (13,4 thousand ha) districts.
Compared to the corresponding period of the previous year sowing area of winter crops decreased by 8,2%, as well as sowing area of wheat by 15,5%, while sowing area of barley increased by 2,3%.
