Cargo transportation by transport corridors in 2024

In 2024, the volume of cargo transportation in transport corridors was 33258,0 thousand tons and cargo turnover 13198,3 million ton-km, a respective increase of 1,4 percent and 2,5 percent was observed compared to the same period of the previous year. The volume of cargo transportation through the East-West transport corridor was 16982,4 thousand tons, including the Europe-Caucasus-Asia transport corridor – 8322,3 thousand tons, the North-South transport corridor – 9896,5 thousand tons, the North-West transport corridor – 5984,9 thousand tons, and the South-West transport corridor – 394,2 thousand tons. 15277,6 thousand ton or 46,0 percent of cargo was transported by railway transport, 10090,0 thousand ton or 30,3 percent by automobile transport, 7890,4 thousand ton or 23,7 percent by sea transport.

56,6 percent or 18840,1 thousand tons of cargo transportation by corridor was transit cargo.
