Traffic accidents occurred on the highways in 2024

In 2024, 1427 or 12,8% less traffic accidents occurred compared to the 2023, the number of victims of these events decreased by 12,4% and made 1952 persons. 764 of suffered persons died and 1188 of them were injured. 40,2% of accidents happened in the daytime, 38,4% - at night time, 21,4% - during twilight, 29,7% of accidents occurred on Saturdays and Sundays.

86,8% of traffic accidents happened in settlements; number of persons died as a result of these accidents decreased by 12,1% and made 559 persons compared to the previous year, while the number of injured persons decreased by 14,1% and made 1116 persons.

37,9% of all traffic accidents happened with participation of several transport means, 41,1% - transport means and pedestrians, 21,0% - one mode of transport. 76,6% of persons died and 71,3% of injured as a result of traffic accidents were men.

19 accidents occurred because of drunk driving and caused death or injury, where 10 persons died, 15 persons injured. 16 of such accidents have been committed by drivers of motor-cars.
