Chairman of the State Statistical Committee Tahir Budagov met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kyrgyz Republic to the Republic of Azerbaijan Maksat Mamytkanov.

On February 14, Chairman of the State Statistical Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan Tahir Budagov met with Maksat Mamytkanov, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kyrgyz Republic to the Republic of Azerbaijan.

The meeting highlighted that relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Kyrgyz Republic have been elevated to the level of strategic partnership, emphasizing the role of both heads of state in this development. It was noted that on November 8, 2021—on the anniversary of Azerbaijan’s victory in the 44-day war—the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic issued a congratulatory statement.

The importance of cooperation in the field of statistics, as in all other areas, was underlined. It was recalled with satisfaction that in 2023, a group of representatives from the National Statistical Committee of the Kyrgyz Republic visited Baku for a training program aimed at studying the experience of the State Statistical Committee of Azerbaijan in various statistical fields. During the training, participants were provided with presentations on Azerbaijan’s national statistical system, the use of administrative data and Big Data in the production of official statistics, quality management and the application of quality control tables in statistics, the use of information technologies in the collection and processing of statistical data, the dissemination of statistical information and organization of public relations, the activities of the Center for Scientific Research and Statistical Innovations, the organization of sample surveys, the application of innovative methods in official statistics, training-related issues, and the scientific-practical journal Statistical News.

The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kyrgyz Republic to the Republic of Azerbaijan, Maksat Mamytkanov, expressed his gratitude to Tahir Budagov for the sincere meeting and emphasized the appropriateness of signing a Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in the Field of Statistics between the State Statistical Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the National Statistical Committee of the Kyrgyz Republic to strengthen mutual relations between the statistical institutions of both countries.

Subsequently, an exchange of views took place on other issues of mutual interest.
