Activities of hotels and similar establishments in January–June 2025
The number of nights spent in hotels and similar establishments in January–June 2025 increased by 6.4% compared with January–June 2024 and amounted to 1970.7 thousand. 62.6% of the total nights spent were registered in Baku, 6.4% in Gusar, 4.9% in Naftalan, 4.4% in Gabala, 3.2% in Shabran, 3.0% in Guba, 2.6% in Lankaran, 1.4% in Shamakhi, 1.1% in Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, 1.1% in Shusha, 1.0% in Masalli, 1.0% in Khachmaz, and 7.3% in other districts and cities. The number of nights spent by foreigners and stateless persons increased by 10.3% compared with January–June 2024 and reached 1192.6 thousand, representing 60.5% of total nights. 19.3% of the total nights were spent by citizens of India, 12.8% – the Russian Federation, 9.1% – Türkiye, 6.7% – Saudi Arabia, 5.3% – the United Arab Emirates, 4.1% – Israel, 3.3% – the USA, 2.8% – China, 2.8% – Pakistan, 2.7% – Kazakhstan, 2.5% – Uzbekistan, 2.4% – Kuwait, 2.0% – the United Kingdom, 1.1% – Germany, 0.9% – Italy, 0.7% – Georgia, 0.6% – Bahrain, 0.6% – Iran, while 20.3% accounted for citizens of other countries. 80.8% of the nights spent in hotels by foreigners and stateless persons were registered in Baku city, 7.2% in Gusar, 4.1% in Naftalan, 3.2% in Gabala, 2.1% in Guba, 0.5% in Shamakhi and 2.1% in other districts and cities. The number of nights spent in hotels by citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan increased by 0.9% compared with January–June 2024 and amounted to 778.1 thousand, representing 39.5% of total nights. In January–June 2025, hotels and similar establishments’ revenues increased by 9.2% compared with January–June 2024 and amounted to 290.0 million manats, 60.4% of which were from services for the provision of rooms, 27.5% – catering services, 3.2% – treatment and health services, and 8.9% – other services. In January–June 2025, one-time use of rooms in hotels and similar establishments was 21.4% countrywide (21.1% in January–June 2024). This indicator was 51.5% in Shabran, 40.2% in Naftalan, 34.1% in Baku, 31.6% in Gusar, 27.4% in Sabirabad, 22.1% in Gabala, 19.5% in Barda, 17.9% in Lankaran, 17.4% in Shamakhi, 17.1% in Guba, 16.3% in Bilasuvar, 16.0% in Beylagan, 15.8% in Aghstafa, while in other cities and regions, it was below 15.8%.
