An event dedicated to the Memorial Day was held at the State Statistical Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan
On September 22, an event dedicated to the Memorial Day was held at the State Statistical Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
The event began with the performance of the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan, followed by a moment of silence in honor of the martyrs who heroically sacrificed their lives for the Motherland.
Speakers emphasized that September 27 marks the beginning of the 44-day Patriotic War, which put an end to 30 years of occupation and two centuries of historical injustice, and became the glorious Victory chronicle of modern Azerbaijan. On this day, the Azerbaijani people, united around their Victorious Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev, mobilized for the liberation of the lands that had long been under enemy occupation. This day, observed as Memorial Day in our country by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, dated December 2, 2020, is a manifestation of the Azerbaijani people's profound respect for the souls of the martyrs and their unwavering commitment to honoring the cherished memory of the nation's immortal heroes.
It was noted that the 44-day Patriotic War ended with a glorious victory based on a strong economy, excellent army building, a fundamentally changed international attitude towards Azerbaijan, and the unity between the people and the government, which manifested itself as an “iron fist”.
This historic Victory was not only a military but also a moral triumph. The foundation of this Victory was laid by our martyrs who gave their lives and blood, considering the homeland sacred.
In conclusion, it was emphasized that our people always honor the memory of their martyrs and heroic sons, and that the sacrifices they made for a sacred cause serve as a profound example for future generations.
At the end of the event, a film dedicated to Memorial Day was demonstrated.
