Activities of hotels and similar establishments in January-September 2025
The number of nights spent in hotels and similar establishments in January-September 2025 increased by 6,1% compared with January-September 2024 and amounted to 3469,3 thousand. 58,1% of the total nights spent were registered in Baku, 5,8% in Gusar, 5,5% in Khachmaz, 4,9% in Naftalan, 3,8% in Gabala, 3,3% in Guba, 2,9% in Lankaran, 2,5% in Shabran, 1,5% in Shamakhi, 1,2% in Gakh, 1,2% in Shusha, 1,1% in Masalli, 1,0% in Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic and 7,2% in other districts and cities.
The number of nights spent by foreigners and stateless persons increased by 9,3 percent compared to January-September 2024 and reached 1937,0 thousand, representing 55,8% of total nights. 14,1% of the total nights were spent by the citizens of India, 10,9% - the Russian Federation, 9,1% - Saudi Arabia, 8,7% - Türkiye, 4,9% - the United Arab Emirates, 4,6% - Israel, 3,6% - Pakistan, 3,5% - the USA, 3,5% - China, 3,2% - Uzbekistan, 2,8% - Kazakhstan, 2,8% - Kuwait, 2,3% - Great Britain, 1,2% - Germany, 1,0% - Italy, 0,8% - Georgia, 0,6% - Iran, 0,6% - Bahrain, 0,6% - Ukraine, 21,2% - citizens of other countries.
80,6% of the nights in hotels spent by foreigners and stateless persons were registered in Baku city, 6,4% in Gusar, 4,2% in Naftalan, 3,4% in Gabala, 2,4% in Guba, 0,6% in Shamakhi and 2,4% in other districts and cities.
The number of nights spent in hotels by the citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan compared to January-September 2024 increased by 2,4% and made 1532,3 thousand, representing 44,2% of total nights.
In January-September 2025, hotels and similar establishments’ revenues increased by 5,5% compared to January-September 2024 and amounted to 494,2 million manats, 62,4% of which were from services for the provision of rooms, 26,8% catering services, 2,8% treatment and health services and 8,0% other services.
In January-September 2025, one-time use of rooms in hotels and similar establishments was 25,0% (24,8% in January-September 2024). This indicator was 46,9% in Shabran, 46,7% in Naftalan, 36,9% in Baku, 33,4% in Gusar, 27,4% in Sabirabad, 23,4% in Lankaran, 22,8% in Gabala, 21,8% in Guba, 21,6% in Shamakhi, 19,4% in Barda, 18,2% in Bilasuvar, 17,4% in Gakh, 16,5% in Khachmaz, 16,4% in Lachin, while in other cities and regions, it was below 16,4 percent.
