On 18 December, a meeting was held between Mr. Tahir Budagov, Chairman of the State Statistical Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and Ms. Vladanka Andreeva, the United Nations Resident Coordinator in the Republic of Azerbaijan.

During the meeting, it was noted that the cooperation between our country and the United Nations, the foundations of which were laid during the period of leadership of Heydar Aliyev and elevated to a qualitatively new stage by Ilham Aliyev, the activities implemented within the framework of this cooperation, in particular the implementation of the “Cooperation Framework for Sustainable Development for 2021–2025”, the National SDG Data Portal of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the establishment of the “UN–SSC Joint Working Group on National SDG Monitoring Systems”, and the preparation of the practical guide entitled “Data Disaggregation for SDGs” within the framework of cooperation between the United Nations Country Team (UNCT) and the State Statistical Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan represent significant steps towards the development of statistics and it was also noted that data were obtained for 18 SDG indicators as a result of the Multiple Indicator Cluster Survey (MICS) conducted in 2023 with the support of the United Nations Children's Fund. At the same time, the “Cooperation Framework for Sustainable Development for 2026–2030” (UNSDCF) signed between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the United Nations was discussed, and an exchange of views was held on strengthening national statistical systems, as well as on SDG monitoring and reporting.

Mr. Tahir Budagov, Chairman of the State Statistical Committee, expressed his gratitude to Ms. Vladanka Andreeva, the United Nations Resident Coordinator in the Republic of Azerbaijan, whose term of service in the country has concluded, for the fruitful cooperation and wished her success in her future endeavors.
