Changes in prices of consumer market

Consumer prices in January-May 2026 compared to January-May 2025 increased by 5,6%, including food products, alcoholic drinks and tobacco products 6,7%, non-food products 3,7% and paid services provided to population 5,7%.

Compared to May 2025, the annual price increase was 5,6%, while in the last month it was 0,1%.  

In May of the current year compared to the previous month, more increase was observed in prices of several food products such as buckwheat groats, beef and mutton, sausage products, cheese, cottage cheese, table margarine, sunflower and corn oil, lemon, apple, kiwi, white cabbage, broccoli, greens, green bean, table beetroot, onion, and both carbonated and non-carbonated water, while the decrease was observed in the prices of fresh fish, egg, banana, strawberry, cucumber, tomato, sweet pepper, eggplant, carrot, garlic, and potato. There were no significant changes in the prices of other food products.  

In May 2026, consumer prices for non-food products increased by 0,1% compared to the previous month and by 3,9% compared to the corresponding month of the previous year. In May compared to the previous month, the prices of paint, plastic pipes, detergents, and personal hygiene products increased, while prices of jewelry decreased. There were no significant changes in the prices of other non-food products. 

In May 2026, increase in prices for paid services provided to population was 0,2% compared to the previous month and 5,7% compared to the corresponding month of the previous year. In May compared to the previous month, prices of international passenger air transportation services increased. There were no significant changes in the prices of other paid services.
