Number of foreigners and stateless persons who arrived to the Republic of Azerbaijan and citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan who travelled to foreign countries in January-May 2026
According to the State Border Service data, in January-May 2026 the Republic of Azerbaijan received 871,7 thousand or 11,0 percent less foreigners and stateless persons from 186 countries of the world compared to the corresponding period of the previous year. 27,2% of the arrivals were from the Russian Federation, 22,0% – Türkiye, 8,4% – Iran, 5,0% – Georgia, 4,5% – Kazakhstan, 3,2% - Uzbekistan, 2,9% – India, 2,7% – Pakistan, 2,3% – China, 2,0% - Israel, 1,8% – Saudi Arabia, 1,6% – Ukraine, 1,4% - Turkmenistan, 1,1% each from Germany and Great Britain and 12,8% – were citizens of other countries and stateless persons. 69,6% of the arrivals were men and 30,4% were women.
Compared to January-May 2025, in January-May 2026 the number of arrivals from EU member countries increased by 13,3 percent and amounted to 44,2 thousand persons, from the CIS countries it increased by 3,0% and amounted to 336,5 thousand persons, from Gulf countries decreased by 31,6 percent and amounted to 105,2 thousand persons, and arrivals from other countries decreased by 16,2%, reaching 385,8 thousand persons.
70,0% of foreigners and stateless persons arriving in our country used air transport, 28,5% - railway and car, and 1,5% - sea transport.
