Number of foreigners and stateless persons who arrived to the Republic of Azerbaijan and citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan who travelled to foreign countries, January-March 2026
According to the State Border Service data, in January-March 2026 the Republic of Azerbaijan received 484,4 thousand or 4,7 percent less foreigners and stateless persons from 172 countries of the world compared to the corresponding period of the previous year. 25,9% of the arrivals were from the Russian Federation, 21,7% – Türkiye, 8,9% – Iran, 5,3% – Georgia, 4,1% – Kazakhstan, 3,6% – India, 3,0% - each from Pakistan and Uzbekistan, 2,5% – Saudi Arabia, 2,1% – China, 1,9% - Israel, 1,6% - Ukraine, 1,5% - Turkmenistan, 1,2% - Great Britain, 1,0% - each from Kuwait and United Arab Emirates, 11,7% – were citizens of other countries and stateless persons. 71,8% of the arrivals were men and 28,2% were women.
In January-March 2026 compared to January-March 2025, the number of arrivals from EU member countries increased by 27,4 percent and amounted to 21,8 thousand persons, from the CIS countries it increased by 3,8% and amounted to 177,1 thousand persons, from Gulf countries decreased by 16,7 percent and amounted to 69,1 thousand persons, and arrivals from other countries decreased by 8,9%, reaching 216,4 thousand persons.
68,6% of foreigners and stateless persons arriving in our country used air transport, 29,8% - railway and car, and 1,6% - sea transport.
In January-March 2026 compared to January-March 2025, the total number of citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan who travelled to foreign countries decreased by 3,5% and amounted to 452,6 thousand persons. 40,2% of our citizens travelled to Türkiye (6,4% more compared to the same period of the previous year), 15,6% - Russian Federation (4,0% less), 10,2% - Georgia (11,0% less), 9,3% - Iran (15,8% less), 24,7% to other countries (8,7% less). 66,3% of the travellers were men and 33,7% were women.
In January-March 2026, 69,0% of the citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan who travelled to foreign countries used air transport, 29,0% railway and car, and 2,0% - sea transport.
