Number of foreigners and stateless persons who arrived to the Republic of Azerbaijan and citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan who travelled to foreign countries, January-April 2026

According to the State Border Service data, in January-April 2026 the Republic of Azerbaijan received 658,5 thousand or 10,5 percent less foreigners and stateless persons from 175 countries of the world compared to the corresponding period of the previous year. 26,7% of the arrivals were from the Russian Federation, 22,4% – Türkiye, 8,7% – Iran, 5,3% – Georgia, 4,5% – Kazakhstan, 3,2% - Uzbekistan, 3,0% – India, 2,7% - Pakistan, 2,2% – China, 2,1% – Saudi Arabia, 1,6% - Ukraine, 1,5% - Turkmenistan, 1,4% - Israel, 1,1% - each from Germany and Great Britain, 12,5% – were citizens of other countries and stateless persons. 70,9% of the arrivals were men and 29,1% were women.

In January-April 2026 compared to January-April 2025, the number of arrivals from EU member countries increased by 17,1% and amounted to 32,6 thousand persons, from the CIS countries it increased by 3,5% and amounted to 251,5 thousand persons, from Gulf countries decreased by 27,8% and amounted to 85,1 thousand persons, and arrivals from other countries decreased by 16,7%, reaching 289,3 thousand persons.

69,1% of foreigners and stateless persons arriving in our country used air transport, 29,3% - railway and car, and 1,6% - sea transport.

In January-April 2026 compared to January-April 2025, the total number of citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan who travelled to foreign countries decreased by 4,8% and amounted to 602,4 thousand persons. 40,8% of our citizens travelled to Türkiye (7,5% more compared to the same period of the previous year), 16,8% - Russian Federation (1,0% less), 10,8% - Georgia (7,1% less), 7,9% - Iran (31,4% less), 23,7% to other countries (12,1% less). 67,3% of the travellers were men and 32,7% were women.

In January-April 2026, 69,7% of the citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan who travelled to foreign countries used air transport, 28,2% railway and car, and 2,1% - sea transport.
