Action Plan on Preparation for the 2029 Population Census Approved

The Cabinet of Ministers has adopted a Resolution approving Action Plan on the preparation and conduct of the population census in the Republic of Azerbaijan in 2029.

Under the Resolution, the population census will be conducted with a reference time of 00:00 on 1 October 2029. To assess the level of preparedness, a pilot census is planned to be conducted in Khachmaz District from 1 to 31 October 2028.

The document provides for the establishment of the Central Commission to Support the Population Census, coordination of the activities of the relevant government bodies, integration of administrative data into the database of the State Statistical Committee, establishment of census enumeration areas, training of enumerators and public awareness-raising measures.
