Demographic situation in the country
Since the beginning of the year number of population of the country increased by 11 099 persons or 0,1% and reached to 10 273 450 persons for the state of July 1, 2026.
In first half of the current year, 40 798 newborns were registered by the district (city) registration departments of the Ministry of Justice. Number of newborns per 1000 population compared to the corresponding period of 2025, decreased from 9,0 to 8,0. 53,5% of newborns are boys and 46,5% are girls. 1 420 of newborns are twins and 57 are triplets.
In January-June of the current year, 30 625 cases of deaths were registered in the country. Number of cases of deaths per 1000 population compared to the corresponding period of the last year, increased from 5,8 to 6,0.
In first half of the current year, 19 224 marriages and 9 776 divorces were registered by the district (city) registration departments of the Ministry of Justice. Number of marriages per 1000 population compared to the corresponding period of 2025, decreased from 4,9 to 3,8, while the number of divorces decreased from 2,0 to 1,9.
