Transportation and storage services in January-July 2026

In January-July 2026, services amounted to 9,206.6 million manats were provided in the transportation and storage sector, representing a 7,1 percent increase in real terms compared to the corresponding period of the previous year. Of the total services, 5530,7 million manats (60.1 percent) accounted for freight transportation, 2522,9 million manats (27,4 percent) for passenger transportation, and 1153,0 million manats (12,5 percent) for storage and postal services.

In the transport sector, 140,8 million tonnes or 2,8 percent more freight were transported compared to the same period of the previous year. Of the total freight transported, 63,0 percent was shipped by road, 25,9 percent by pipeline, 7,4 percent by rail, 3,6 percent by sea, and 0,1 percent by air.

The number of passengers transported amounted to 1290,0 million persons, or 8,6 percent more compared to the same period of the previous year. Of the total number of passengers, 89,3 percent were transported by road, 10,0 percent by subway, and the rest by other means of transport.
